• Joining PDAP is quick and easy. Simply come to one of our Houston office locations. There are no forms to fill out, no interview or registration process to complete, and families are not required to pay anything.

• It is most beneficial for the client to meet with one of our staff prior to attending their first group session. This gives the young person and/or parent(s) an opportunity to find out more about PDAP, ask questions, and have an assessment performed if deemed appropriate. Those needing documentation of attendance for school or probation will want to schedule a meeting with the Program Coordinator (program coordinator should have a hyper link which will take them to the contact person) of their group to ensure that the proper information can be provided.

• Parents often express concern that their teen has a negative attitude about attending the first group session. No one likes to admit they need help and it is normal to feel uncomfortable attending a group session for the first time. We encourage parents not to get involved in debates or arguments and to simply bring the young person to a meeting. If the young person is allowed to have misgivings, then he or she will be much more likely to keep an open mind.
